IBADAN: Canonical visitation of the Master of the Order to the Dominican House of Studies, Ibadan, Nigeria

In continuation of his visitation to the Province of Nigeria and Ghana, The 78th successor of St. Dominic, Brother Bruno Cadore, accompanied by Bro. Gabriel Samba and Bro. Michael Mascari, arrived the Province’s House of Studies, St. Thomas Aquinas Priory, Ibadan on the 10th of December 2014. Apart from the different groups which he met during his Five Days stay, Brother Bruno met with all the brothers assigned to the priory (about 80 brothers), including Bro. Lawrence Agu from Our Lady of Fatima House, Gusau, Zamfara State. The Master insists that his aim of coming is to sit and dialogue with each brother, this he succeeded in doing. He met with the Jubilee Year celebration committee, the Faculty and Staff of Dominican Institute, the Lay Dominicans and Dominican Young Hearts movement, and also visited the site of the proposed Dominican University. As a sign of unity of the Dominican Family, Brother Bruno presided over the conventual Mass on Sunday, 14th of December 2014 to round off his canonical visit.

The Master and his Socii Bro. Gabriel Samba and Bro. Michael Mascari were honoured with chieftaincy titles by the brothers as gesture of honour, in appreciation for their coming. We thank them for coming to share with us our joys and fears as we all strive in obedience to respond to the call of Christ in the spirit of St. Dominic.
